Are all Princesses Pink??

Ok...so I know that according to the animated movie "Cinderella" atleast one Princess wears blue...but why is it that girls are completely consumed with the idea that Pink is the the color of Princesses??? My little one LOVES the color pink! She says that if she is a princess than she has to be a pink princess. So, I asked her, "what about Cinderella" and she said: "But Daddy...she only had to wear that cuz the Fairy Godmother did not know that Pink was her favorite! The mice knew cuz they wuz her friends!" LOL! Outta the mouths of babes!!

So this begs the question: Why are princesses (and all their accessories that we see so prominently EVERYWHERE the color PINK????? Is there power in Pink??? Does it subconsciously make the Princess Wannabe more likely to be a TRUE princess???????

These are the weird things I wonder about.

Meanwhile...my ex just says to stop thinking so much and just buy her the pink princess sheets she wants for her.

:sigh:

Oooh, friend, there may indeed be some wisdom to your ex's thinking. You could twist your head into knots over this stuff. My daugther has Aspergers and doens't speak in complete sentences yet at the age of four, but she has had a love affair with the colour pink for 2 years. Is is because many of the toys made for girls are pink? Is it because MY soon-2B-X dressed her in pink? Is it because when you go to the store to buy "gender neutral" clothing in orange or green or yellow you can't FIND IT? Probably yes to all th above. My eldest daugther--14 now-- was raised pretty gender neutral: she had lots of friends with 2 mommies or 2 daddies and we gave her trucks and modeling clay as well as dolls, and she was a die-hard nurturer from the time she became conscious. She's 14 and while her favourite outfits are bell-bottom jeans and tie-dyed, EVERYTHING she owns is pink. She a little bit goth, too, but even THAT is pink! I call her style "poth" as in "pink goth".

Ya can't fight city hall, friend. If the princess sheets will get her to sleep comfortably through the night at your house, then buy the damned things!! That's what I'd do...

LOL...I guess that is the truly logical course of action. I was just wondering because it just seems inevitable for them to love pink!

As for my ex..she is often right (tho' don't tell her that) and she often has a wisdom that I never appreciated when I was with her (but do not tell her that either! LOL!)

My dear friend, everyone knows that pink makes a woman's skin glow and brings out the beauty in her. The color screams innocense and feminity. It was invented by the fairies just for little girls and grown women who have become whistful.
